Earrings

Abbey got her ears pierced.
At the beginning of November I realized that it was going to take more than the threat of other kids teasing her to make her stop sucking her thumb.
I bought a "handaide" which she wore for an entire month plus a week or so. One day I forgot to put it back on her hand after a bath and she never put her thumb back in her mouth.
Awesome.
I promised her that she could have an American Girl doll if she stopped sucking her thumb.
Well my Mom decided that she was going to buy it for her for Christmas so I promised her that if she stopped she could have her ears pierced.
So I asked her if she was ready and she said yes. We called Dad home early from work and off we went to get them done.
She picked gold earrings with pink quartz hearts, such a girly girl.
They marked her ears and I made them remark her ears 3 times before they were just right.
They lined the piercing guns up and did them at the same time.
She didn't cry just sat there looking at me with her huge, gorgeous blue eyes.
When I asked her if she was OK, 2 little tears ran down her face. And that was it.
They gave her a lollipop and off we went for pink icecream to celebrate her new jewelry.
She has been so good about remembering to have me clean her ears.
NOTE TO SELF: bribing children TOTALLY works.
