Happy 4 months!

Jackson is 4 months old today! I cannot believe it. Time flies. Jack is now sleeping through the night. He is wearing 6-12 month clothes. He tips the scales at just under 19lbs. He is the sweetest, most cuddly child. I love having him around. He loves his Dad and Abigail. He has recently learned to squeal like a piggy. It's so funny. He sucks both thumbs. His skin is like buttah thanks to some excellent steroids. He is bald as cue ball, more fun to kiss all over. He tries to roll over but there is just too much weight to move. Everyone comments on how happy and content he is, which is quite a change from the usual "She is wild and crazy huh?!" that we constantly hear with Abbey around.
Oh! Joseph and I went on a date on Friday night too. It was great.

Abbey loves her Jack-Jack.

Joseph starts back to school this week and it is getting hotter than ever here. Blech. Jake has 2 weeks left of school and I'm busy changing diapers, nursing a baby, decorating, and cooking.

Mystery solved!

My father sent me this picture today. This is a picture of his Mom and Dad aka Papa and Glaa. I love to see pictures of my grandparents when they were young. I opened the file and it instantly hit me that Jackson looks exactly like my Papa, who they actually called "Jack" (his first name was John). When Joseph arrived home I showed him the picture and he said "that looks like Jackson". Now I know that Jackson really is my child, we had been debating a possible switched at birth scenario.

Ode to Jack

Dear Jack,
Your skin is whack.
I don't know what to do.
I bathe you everyday
Just like the Doctors say.
I slather you with lotion
I even rub it in a circular motion.
But your bum is still bright red and sore.
I'm going to try one thing more.
I tossed and turned all night
the simple thought gives me fright
but I know this is right
In cloth diapers your bum will delight.

Weekly Update

Joseph finished his 2nd year of his Masters program. YAY! He did really well and I am enjoying the break and so is he. He is off watching SpiderMan-3 with Jake and Steven.
I was called to teach the CTR 5 class. I however, was not released from being the Activites Committee Chair.
Abbey is still wild and crazy and it obsessed with ike-anon, aka ice cream.
Jack is sleeping from 8-4am then 4:15-8:30am. I love Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child. He is a way better baby than Abigail was, which probably means that he is going to be a hellraiser when he is a teenager, lovely.
I planned out all our meals for the week and went shopping, the boys are in for some great new meals. I made Jake eat cous-cous this week. He said it tastes like flowers.
We are getting excited for Jeremy and Lauren's visit.

I just love this picture.

I'm chubby

Playing outside

This is how I find Abbey on Tuesday morning, she was waiting for Jake to come home from school.

*MILESTONE ALERT*

Folks we have a grabber! Jackson reached for his 1st object today. While he was enjoying the silence (Abbey was with Joseph and Jake, getting a learners permit) I put him under his play gym, which he can't ever use because Abbey insists that she is the baby and she needs to lay down to play with the toys too, I look over and he is reaching up to grab to octopus that is hanging down. *sigh* my little guy is growing up.

This is a happy baby!! sorry the pic is fuzzy, my ISO was too high.

No Buy Month

This month Joseph and I have committed to have a "No Buy Month". Lots of our friends are doing this to see how much money we waste on impulse and boredom buying. We will only buy gas, groceries, co-pays, dinner out on Fridays nights (my night off), pay our regular bills, lunch money for Jake (if needed). This is only day number 3.

The scene- our house around 10pm lastnight. Joseph and Heather talking while watching AI with Jake.

Joseph: "Man pizza sounds really good! Is it too late to order a pizza?"

Heather: "Joseph we are in the middle of "No Buy Month, you cannot order a pizza or I'll tell on you. We have a pizza kit in the pantry."

Joseph: "Oh man, come on. You wanna make me a pizza?"

Heather: "No, I wanna go to bed."

5 minutes later...

Heather: "I need a pedicure. I think I'll go get one tomorrow."

Joseph: "No you won't. I'll tell on you.

Heather: "I won't tell if you don't tell!"

It's going to be a long month!

Hurry UP June!!

Our 1st BBQ of the season

Yesterday it was beautiful outside so we decided to fire up the grill for our Inaugural BBQ!! Abigail had a blast. She loved being outside all afternoon with her Daddy. She ran all over the yard kicking her ball, going down the slide, checking the burgers on the grill, getting the mail with Jake, etc. Jackson napped the whole time, much to my delight.

Joseph began studying for his finals which are Thursday and Monday. We only have a year and a half to go. *sigh*

The hired help (Jake) cut our grass too. :)
