NieNie Day

I love the NieNie Dialogues. I have been reading Steph's blog for a long while now. She is absolutely darling. I love her modge podge home. It is lived in and loved. She has a passion for her family that is palpable. She chronicles the silly things in life, I love that. She knows what's important, family.
She was involved in a plane crash 2 weeks ago with her husband (Mr. Nielson) and their flight instructor. She has 4 simply adorable and young children. sad.
Today Design Mom is hosting a Silent Auction that will benefit the Nielsons. There are lots of incredible things up for auction. And even if you don't donate or buy anything. Check out the NieNie Dialogues. It'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Now back to my vacation.

Vacation Recap

We departed VA on the 23rd of July and headed to the mountains of CO. The 1st two nights we stayed at Jeremy and Lauren's home. They are such wonderful hosts. It was almost like I was in my own home except it was clean. The next 5 days we stayed down in Monument with Mom and Dad G. And when I say "we", I mean everyone, all 23 of us. I am going to be honest and tell you that I was expecting massive chaos and horrid sleeping from my children and everyone elses children. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was quite delightful. All of the kiddos slept well and played really well together. Well, as well as nine kids 5 and under can. We swam in Nana and Papas "hot pool", jumped on the trampoline, painted, ran crazy, had a double 30th birthday bash, went to the zoo, Garden of the Gods and one night the adults put their critters to bed and we went out to dinner and went bowling. I loved this trip. I love seeing all the cousins love one another. I love being around everyone. It was delightful to spend time with Kristen/Rhett and their 3 kiddos and John/Shauna and their girls. And now we're home. Which means I actually have to do my hair and get dressed because I know people around here. I'm sad and my kids are bored.

I love this picture of Abigail and Ashley. They were whispering about something and they giggled and giggled and giggled.

All of the critters.

All the girls.

Birthday Boys

Jeremy is preparing to take it down.

Chris is lining up.

Priceless.

How on earth can you hit a pinata with a thumb in your mouth?!

Did I mention RockBand? Well several of us (*cough* Jeremy *cough*) left with a serious addiction. It was played for about 4 days straight.

Swimming at the civic green.
PS. there is more. The pics are just on the other computer.

Abbey turns 3!

On Saturday August 2, Abigail turned 3! We had a super fun party with 2 of her very best girl friends. And let's be honest the fact that we got home 3 days before didn't exactly lend itself to having the MA-JUH! carnival party I was planning. Oh well there is always next year and Abbey didn't notice. She had a blast. We bought dress up clothes for all the little girls, lots of jewels, crowns, etc. We had a princess pinata (AWESOME, mostly b/c i ate all the candy), lots of balloons, pizza and an amazing cake from Wegmans b/c I don't do birthday cakes. It was great. She received so many new toys I'm boxing up the old stuff and chucking it tonight. We are busting at the seams.
