Minivan Mom

So for the last week Joseph and I have had my Dad's minivan. I know I know, whose Dad drives a minivan?! Well for full disclosure it's his wifes. Anywho. He is in London visiting her family for 2 weeks so we are in charge of the "Pimp Van" as we like to refer to it. Our Pilot needed its 50,000 mile check up so I thought AWeSOME! I get to drive his van for a week. HA HA HA. I love the idea of a minivan. Fit all your stuff, lots of room, great gas mileage, fit lots of kids in there, etc. Well after driving one for a few days. I was thrilled!!! when the Pilot was done with its checkup. So on Saturday after we finally had our car returned Joseph went out and test drove REALLY REALLY big SUV's just to remind himself that he will never own a minivan (which is part of our marriage contract).

bzzzzzzz

I'll let you in on a little secret about myself.
I love to try new things. Usually when I go to Target, Ulta, the hair salon, Sephora, etc. I come home with whatever I went to purchase and usually one new thing to try. Joseph always asks me if I'm ever going to get tired of "stuff". Nope. I happened to stumble upon www.bzzagent.com, I signed up but didn't really think anything would come of it. Well for about a year now I have been doing product sampling and "word of mouth" promotions. Which consists of me telling my Mom friends about a new product I found that my kids love. You get free product and lots of coupons. It rocks. To date I have sampled Silk Soy Milk, Clairitin, Barilla tortellini (which is awesome and my kids beg for them) Stoneyfield Organic Yogurt, Tropicana Organic Orange Juice, Ziploc Twist Lock containers, Oust, Listerine Teeth whitening strips, 5 gum, CVS Photobook, Sonicare UV sanitizer, Grey Poupon, etc. It rocks. Go on sign up. I love getting stuff in the mail.

I'll post about my new beauty related finds later.

Cherry Blossoms

Here we are with our friends Mandy and Christian
There were paddleboats everywhere.
My photography teacher would be proud of me.
One sleepy and snuggly little boy.
Abbey loved to pick the blossoms off the trees for me.
This past Saturday we drove into the city (DC) to see the Cherry Blossoms and have a picnic. Traffic was unbelieveable. But the blossoms were beautiful and the sun was shining. It was glorious. It was supposed to rain all day but there wasn't a rain cloud in the sky. Abbey and Jack loved being outside and being able to run. Everyday since then Abbey has asked when we are going to go have another picnic in the "popcorn trees".

Here's what's happening in our neck of the woods

We enrolled Abigail in a gym class at The Little Gym. Last night was her 1st night. She lOves it. It was so fun to watch her run all over, do rolls, flips on the bars, back handsprings (on a round mat of course), etc. She was one of the oldest in the class. Actually I think there may have been only 1 kid who was older. So that was kind of a bummer. She would have her turn and then would have to wait for all the smaller kids to go. She would say "Mommy can't I do something else?" I just laughed. She saw the bigger girls come out of the dance studio and said "I wanna go in there and dance." So we are going to sign her up for dance at the end of the gym session.

A few months ago we signed Abbey up for a 2 day a week preschool class that will begin in September. One of the requirements of the school is that all 3yr olds must be potty trained. I knew I was going to have to cross this bridge eventually. We tried a few times to let her do it. She would use the potty when she wanted but never if anyone else suggested it. I've been freaking out recently about just getting it done. I don't like things looming over my head. So Tuesday morning I decided I wasn't going to say anything to her about using the potty but I was going to let her run around naked all day. And what do you know, everytime she needed to go she went by herself. I never said a word. We are now on day 3 and we have had no accidents. Tomorrow we are going to Build-a-Bear if she stays dry for the next 2 days. YAY!

Besides making sure my #1 doesn't pee all over the carpet. I'm busy planning for our late summer trip to OBX. This cold weather has got me down in the dumps. So I'm dreaming of our fun family vacation in late August.

Our little guy is just running around getting into things and being really cute. I love him.

That's all that's going on in this neck of the woods, what's happening in your neck of the woods?
